About This Journal
The HBRC Journal is an international, peer-reviewed Open Access publication dedicated to the dissemination of original research in construction engineering, building materials, housing, and urban development. Published by the Housing and Building National Research Center (HBRC), the journal employs a rigorous double-blind peer review process and fully adheres to the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) core practices. The journal follows a continuous publishing model with one issue compiled annually to ensure the rapid availability of research findings.
Journal History
The HBRC Journal was inaugurated in December 2004 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Center, initially featuring pioneering research from the 2004 Golden Conference. Following its successful launch, the journal expanded its capacity, increasing to three issues annually between 2007 and 2008 to accommodate the growing volume of high-quality submissions.
To facilitate global reach and maintain editorial excellence, HBRC has utilized various international publishing service platforms. From 2010 to 2015, the journal partnered with Elsevier for digital distribution, followed by a service collaboration with EVISE (via the Academy of Scientific Research) from 2016 to 2018. Since January 2019, HBRC has engaged the services of Taylor & Francis. In recognition of its scholarly impact, the HBRC Journal has been indexed in Scopus since 2022.
Beginning in June 2025, the journal is produced by Digital Commons hosted by the Elsevier platform. This strategic partnership enables HBRC to utilize advanced editorial systems and publishing services to further enhance the journal’s global standing while maintaining its independence as the official publisher.
Publishing Schedule
The HBRC Journal follows a continuous publishing model, with a single volume compiled into one issue annually. This model ensures that research is disseminated to the global community immediately upon final acceptance.
